Description:
The intern will be assigned to a specific task concerning advanced road traffic noise assessment and modelling. The work will be mainly devoted to data analysis (both exploratory and advanced) and code writing for predictive model implementation, calibration and validation. The modelling techniques will be various, such as for instance analytical microscopic models, cellular automata, time series analysis, Poisson processes, etc.. Experimental data will be provided for the above-mentioned tasks and, occasionally, the intern will be able to participate in field measurement campaigns. Data analysis and coding will be done in different software environments, such as Python, MatLab, R software. The intern will be asked to develop part of the predictive model and to test it on available datasets.
Requirements:
- The intern should be aware of the basic concept of Acoustics.
- She/he should be able to write code lines in the mentioned software environments.
- She/he must have cooperative skills, to work in team with other interns or researchers.
